ABOUT

Shannon Cleary is a freelance writer based in Calgary, AB. Her stories cover topics in parenting, health, design and technology. Shannon is a contributing writer for several Alberta-based publications and has appeared on Global News Morning Calgary for Calgary's Child. She has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree, both in journalism.

In 2016, Shannon was selected as one of Five New Alberta Voices through the Writers’ Guild of Alberta Mentorship Program for a project in fiction. She has studied creative writing through the University of Calgary Continuing Education program and the prestigious Humber School for Writers.

Shannon is originally from rural Nova Scotia. She now lives in Alberta with her husband and three daring, darling daughters.
